He’s been a bad, bad rake—and it takes a governess to teach him a lesson.
The accidental governess.
After her livelihood slips through her fingers, Alexandra Mountbatten takes on an impossible post: transforming a pair of wild orphans into proper young ladies. However, the girls don’t need discipline. They need a loving home. Try telling that to their guardian, Chase Reynaud: duke’s heir in the streets and devil in the sheets. The ladies of London have tried—and failed—to make him settle down. Somehow, Alexandra must reach his heart . . . without risking her own.
The infamous rake.
Like any self-respecting libertine, Chase lives by one rule: no attachments. When a stubborn little governess tries to reform him, he decides to give her an education—in pleasure. That should prove he can’t be tamed. But Alexandra is more than he bargained for: clever, perceptive, passionate. She refuses to see him as a lost cause. Soon the walls around Chase’s heart are crumbling . . . and he’s in danger of falling, hard.
About the Book
The Governess Game: by Tessa Dare

I loved The Governess Game! Tessa Dare never lets me down. Her books are like delicious candy fairy tales for grown ups and this one delivers on all the feels, the giggles, the swoons, and the steam I expect from Tessa Dare.
Chase, despite being an unapologetic rake, was endlessly charming and endearing. Sure he was building a Regency man cave – a den of debauchery, but his boyish charms combined made him incredible likable. He was funny and sweet and a little bit broken, but I rooted for love to save him all the way through.
I love Alex. I love that she is always a survivor. Everything she needs to keep her career is lost, so she starts again. I’m as in love with her as I am with Chase. She’s half mestiza-Filipino and the details of how that affected her life and her relationships were subtle, but realistic and respectful. It felt like an important part of her identity without it being over the top.
And before I get to my next favorite characters, the chemistry between Alex & Chase is outrageously hot.
OKAY so I’m usually pretty eh about kids in romance. Sometimes it works, sometimes they feel like just tiny adults, sometimes they are obnoxious. However, Rosamund and Daisy are amazing. They are precocious, but they are definitely still children. Their fascination with the macabre lead to more deaths in this book than in all the historical romances I’ve read this year combined (and I’ve been reading a lot of Kerrigan Byrne, so that’s saying something). And you have to read it, because it’s precious.
